Hello. This pictoral guide should help anyone replace their front pads and rotors on a Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 cars that are so popular. One may want to change their pads/rotors for better braking performance (stop consistently for longer) or because their existing parts are worn.
I installed the following parts, but any pads and rotors for the OEM braking system can work with this guide:
Hawk Performance HP Plus Brake Pads
DBA 4000 T3 Slotted Rotors

These steps do not have pictures
- Loosen the wheel lugnuts while the car is on the ground
- Jack up the car and place the front end jackstands per the instruction manual
- Remove the front wheels

Do you have to use the stock oem brake pad shims? I’ve just installed the hawk hp+ pads today and didn’t use the stock shims even though the hawk pads doesn’t come with any…
